Concepts - - Lobster Dunk SB Release

An event of epic and slightly riotous proportions took place today [Saturday, May 31st] as Concepts released their first ever Nike SB collaboration dubbed as the “Lobster Dunk SB“. If you think the Nike SB hype died down–pinch yourself. Although 400 kids would’ve loved to be pinched by the Lobster dunks, only 200 were fortunate enough to get a pair [camping paid off]. Subtle anarchy [sneaker junkies are pretty strung out] overwhelmed the streets as kids who missed out on the dunks stormed the surrounding area, which resulted in a minimal police force to give out a few shakeups.

But Concepts took care of the hardcore Dunkheads with a bunch of delicious catered seafood to get them in the mood. Then the next surprise: a real Boston Lobster Delivery Truck slowly rolled toward the eager crowd and the first 50 customers were handed a limited-edition wood crate box that contained the coveted sneaker. Dirty glances and mischievous hands among the unfortunate kept the true winners holding their precious catch more tightly–envy couldn’t penetrate the scarlet sole soul of these luscious lobster fiends.

Sneakers draw the most hype out of any article of clothing in our industry and out of all the sneakers dropped, none receive more attention and demand than the original, the one that started it all: the Nike SB Dunk. But let’s give credit to Concepts with a brilliant marketing strategy, outstanding presentation, and of course the prolific design of the Lobster Dunk, which was out of this world…er…sea.
