Takashi Murakami - - “Davy Jones’ Tear”

Takashi Murakami is an artist rockstar. There is no denying his mind-bending skills and there is no comparison to the endless blend of creative juices constantly brewing in his extra-terrestrial brain. Recently he hosted an exhibition oddly dubbed “Davy Jones’ Tear” at the Blum & Poe Gallery in LA, which featured eight new large paintings. There were more images from his Daruma series portraying the 6th Century father of Zen Buddhism, but we would love to have his more abstract and floral pieces decked on our walls. See the painting above in full view and other abstract paintings after the jump. Look carefully and you’ll see the exact same painting above but with a completely different background!
