I would go twice..

December 26th, 2008 in Visual

Just to see this fine specimen again. In my opinion,The Spirit was a little too straight forward and cut and dry in comparison to other Frank Miller titles such as 300, or Sin City. It was entertaining enough, at least Eva Mendez was. She is most definitely worth my $8.00 with a student discount again.

Interview: The 1da Child

December 17th, 2008 in Interviews, Lifestyle, Music

Nick tha 1da

Where do I start? Nick tha 1da aka Nick Hernandez, is a producer extraordinaire born and raised in Baltimore. He’s what I like to call - “A producer’s producer” with his ear for music and talent to make it. Nick is slept on but decorated - Working with Grammy nominated artists, Peter Rosenburg, Creator of the highly popular college radio show “Loopdiggin101 [WMUC-FM],” Nick probably knows more samples and gems than your favorite sample revealing music blog has posts and has a resume to show for it. Also, the winner of numerous beat battles such as the Beat Grinder (2x winner), Innerloop Records: Beatdown Showcase, Speakerboxin Tournament, etc. You can believe that dude has some heat tucked in a CD-R. In this interview, we talk to Mr. 1da about his personal life, beats, college, foreign films, his new project Wes Wonder, and DEEEZZZZ NUTS!

December 7th, 2008 in Lifestyle, Visual

A few flicks from last Friday at Berbati’s Pan. The day after my birthday actually. I wish there were more dope shows like this. Big up to Tope of Living Proof (www.myspace.com/topemusic) for being the reason of Blu’s awesome performance (Haha). It was definitely a blast.

Keelay and Zaire (left to right)

If it’s one thing I’m good at, it’s knowing talent when I hear it, and being notorious for riding blazed in my whip. In this case, I am going to hit two birds with one stone. The debut LP Riding High from super producers, Keelay & Zaire (The Soul Vibe) properly titled to always be in rotation in my ride, is something I have been most impressed with lately. Some of you guys might already know the name. If you played College Hoops 2K7, or listened to the soundtrack, you might already be familiar with their name as well. Big ups to Mario Dones, also a Soul Vibe member, for filling me in with what’s good with the SV camp. I slept on it for a hot second, but what good music isn’t (ha). The album features not only SV representatives Slo-Mo, Mario Dones, The A.V.E., and J. Fish. But the album also has many guest features including Blu, Phonte, Supastition, Tash, Torae, Emilio Rojas, and many many others. Below is a sneak peak of what to expect from this talented music group making some noise as of late. Check out the music video to the “The Times” featuring Blu, Fortilive and Nino. Be on the look out for Keelay & Zaire - Riding High LP coming soon!

Enjoy.

Back To The Future

November 23rd, 2008 in News

Man, So I’m going to start trying to post again. School is kicking my ass basically and I had to fall off the face of the earth. So, now 4 months later I’m going to come back with what’s really fresh these days. If you post at Okayplayer, The Lawn, or other hip hop forums you might know him as Kenny Fresh from the almighty Bling 47 Music Group. I personally know him as “Tronathon Taylor Thomas” (ask him, not me). He recently started a blog strategically titled “Fresh Selects.” Everybody, I suggest you add this one to your bookmarks because I said so, you won’t be let down. I Promise. While your at it, download the mans new mix. Featuring some cool dudes from the Thrilla camp, Black Spade, TaRaach, and many others. It’s called Loose Joints. Visit the page.
