Husqvarna Solar Powered Lawn Cutting Robot

October 24th, 2008 in Technology by Lars

Don’t call it a lawnmower, call it an excuse for not doing your least favorite Saturday chore. Cutting grass was never so uninvolved until Husqvarna showcased their Solar Powered Lawn Cutting Robot, which will be available soon in the US. The autonomous device can maintain yards up to half an acre in size, gathering most of it’s power from the sun. If the automower gets too low on power, it can also roll itself back to a base station to recharge via an electric outlet. Zero emission yard care will become a lot easier with this gadget, but it’s expected to cost several thousand dollars - as long as we don’t have to cut the grass all summer, we’ll take it.
