    Nike AF1 Supreme Weatherproof - Olive/Khaki

November 13th, 2008 in Sneakers by Lars

With the colors we’ve been seeing lately, it’s no wonder that Nike’s AF1 (Air Force 1) is one of the most popular sneakers, if not the most popular, to come from the Nike camp. We filled you in on the AF1 Supreme Canvas Pack, now we have this Olive/Khaki AF1 Supreme that is “weatherproof”. With a mix of innovative materials in the upper, these shoes will keep the weather where it belongs - outside your shoes. Another new material, dubbed 0.44 Sticky Rubber, is used in the sole for traction, so it’ll keep you from slipping in the sleet, snow and rain during these tough weather months. View more images below and call up HUF for a phone order or swing by the shop. $150

    Nike “Reuse-A-Shoe” Program

November 12th, 2008 in Lifestyle by Lars

Nike has just launched their Reuse-A-Shoe program, a worn out shoe recycling effort that will save Nike money allow Nike to produce, well, more Nike products. It’s easy. Nike takes your old sneakers and recycles them to make basketball courts, running tracks, or even new sneakers. It’s part of the company’s efforts to reinvent products that have reached the end of their intended use and to close the loop of its manufacturing process. Each individual can donate up to 10 pairs of shoes at a time, and they don’t even have to be Nike’s (cha-ching). We suppose the only problem is that most of you have 200 pairs of brand new sneakers… Either way, hit up Reuse-A-Shoe for all the heart & sole details.

Nike Air Force 1 Supreme ‘07 - Blue Canvas

November 11th, 2008 in Sneakers by Lars

A few weeks ago, we gave you a HUF sneaker update that included the Nike Air Force 1 Supreme in gray and red canvas, now HUF received the blue color-up. Out of the all of AF1’s produced, this Canvas Pack provides a serious face lift on the all-too-common leather get-ups. Also take notice of the reverse stitching, which hides the threads and provides an incredibly smooth blend of the canvas. Call up HUF for a phone order if you can’t make to the store. Right now there’s a decent size-run, but not for long. $150

    Nike Skateboarding Commercial from 1997

October 24th, 2008 in Skateboarding by Lars

Before the sneaker hype, before the tidal wave of indie clothing labels, and before ‘Nike‘ and ‘Nike SB‘ were regarded as two separate entities, Nike debuted this “No Running” commercial that humorously portrays the “criminal” act of skateboarding and hints at Nike’s soon-to-be epic involvement in this underground culture. This commercial is from 1997. We wonder if Nike ever thought that in only a few years they’d have the skate industry on lock. Probably.
