Nike SB “Mosquito” Dunk Low - A Closer Look

The Nike SB “Mosquito” Dunk Low Premium made a buzz a few weeks ago as word leaked that it was a limited edition Quickstrike that would only be available at select accounts. Well, apparently someone got their hands on it and has it up on eBay, a size 11 for $200 to be exact. Incredibly detailed, the shoe is made of suede, patent leather, and nubuck and features a half translucent red/half speckled green sole, a cartoon mosquito printed on the insole, a Band-aid resemblant perforated skin-toned/lime green/blood red color-up and areas of 3M reflective material. Nike SB x Triumvir x Fly - Dunk Mid Beijing

You may have heard about the Nike SB Dunk Mid which we was being nicknamed the China Transit Dunk, but now we have found more details. This is actually a collaboration between Triumvir, an Orange County based lifestyle company, flystreetwear, a Beijing and Shanghai based skate shop, and Nike SB. Coming freshly off of the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, many around the world have taken notice to the Chinese culture. This shoe pays tribute to some aspects of this very intriguing and unique country. For those knowledgeable of this area, one can immediately see the Beijing high-rise/ highway gray-toned heel, red and gold accents to represent fortune, prosperity and Chinese flag, and even the white dust mask worn by many inhabitants on the toe and laces of the shoe. The slogan “skate towards Tienanmen square” is embedded in the sockliner, while the sole fuses Fly’s Chinese coin logo and Triumvir’s “3? logo. Definitely a special shoe for a special culture. Nike SB Dunk Hi - “Soda Cup”

With an unofficial tag name “Soda Cup”, here we have an upcoming Nike SB Dunk Hi. Like the tag name, the outside of the shoe has colors resemblant of a Coca-Cola cup–red/white–and the inside color is brown, perhaps resembling soda. Expect a release for Spring ‘09.

You’ll be swattin’ at sneakerheads all day long with a pair of these Nike SB “Mosquito” Dunk Low Premiums. These bloodsuckers feature a half translucent red/half speckled green sole, a cartoon mosquito printed on the insole, and skin toned/lime green/blood red color-up that looks human enough to attract real mosquitoes. Although there’s sketch rumors of where to get these, we know for sure that mid-west skate/snow shop Cal Surf will release them November 11th 2008 at 11am, with only 100 pairs available. Nike SB Blazer Elite
